ACA Delivers Species Delineation in 3D using Hyperspectral Technology for Tree and Vegetation Maintenance for a Major Utility
ACA simultaneously acquired new LiDAR, Ortho Imagery, and Hyperspectral Data for a 500kV Transmission Line and Corridor. While the Imagery and LiDAR were processed as a PLS-CADD deliverable, the hyperspectral data was processed and fused with the LiDAR to delineate the fast growing trees and diseased trees in 3D.

The fused Hyperspectral and LiDAR data enable Utilities' to target select areas and extract or trim trees of special concern vs. using a ground to sky cutting approach. By identifying specifically the danger maintenance efforts can be more targeted, saving time and money for the utility.
